She was also the Founder of Project Restoration, a non-profit transitional housing for women, and a co-Founder of the Winnebago County Chapter of the National Medical Association, a minority physician organization. Moreover, she was a member of the Winnebago County Medical Society and the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Rockford Alumni Chapter.
Very involved in ministry in Illinois, the doctor served as an Adult Women's Sunday school teacher, a member of the Deacon's Wives Association, the Vice President of the Missionary Board, and as an Instructor for and leader of the Young People Willing Workers and Young Women's Christian Council.
