Professor Mark Dallamore is delighted that his research has led to the recent spate of electro stimulation techniques being presented that validates his early work. It can be announced that human trials of his paraplegic neural implant are at a turning point
London, United Kingdom - February 10, 2017 /PressCable/ —
Professor Mark Dallamore (PMD) a relative of Sir Robert Peel (a former Prime Minister and founder of the British Police Force) is delighted that his research into the bypassing damaged spinal cord has led to the development of the recent spate of electro stimulation techniques being presented. This validates his early work, and had the effect of leading researchers in the right direction hence the current implant developments being presented including “Paralyzed Monkeys Walking Brain Implant”
It is reported that the Neural Implant (NI) developed by PMD is a major progression from the epidural and other stimulation techniques that are currently being tested and some 5-10 years ahead of what’s currently being developed by other parties. Testing is continuing with the goal of securing human trials to make this medical breakthrough a reality, is getting ever closer.
Professor Dallamore was seen as the visionary as it was his team that was researching nerve regeneration methods before it was accepted that it was indeed possible. PMD is not himself going to perform the surgery, but a well-known team of surgeons and scientists have been commissioned to support the first NI operations, with the possibility of regained mobility for paraplegics. It has been confirmed by Dr Indrapala, Director International Relations that Kaatsu International University Japan, Sri Lanka has been collaborating with and fully supports the Professor’s work.
Like many new inventions, innovations and proposed surgical procedures there have been some resistance to change. Indeed that was the case with both Christian Barnard who performed the first heart transplant and Dr Joseph Murray, a plastic surgeon who developed and carried out the first kidney transplant, “both brave men” it was said. Securing this pioneering NI surgery is in a similar position to that of the first heart transplant. There is resistance because it involves performing brain surgery that most western territories will not sanction at the present time.
PMD has travelled to many continents and countries to evaluate medical facilities and secure the necessary clearances. So it can be announced that the human trial research is very close to being approved with governmental representatives of an unnamed country. However, a licence for a rehabilitation centre located in the Middle East has been approved.
The programme is deemed to be at a turning point where this medical breakthrough would be able to benefit paraplegics around the world. The Professor and his team are ready to go, but the final push requires some further funding for additional animal testing and alike.
PMD said, “the work has now at a point where it has effectively stopped in its tracks due to a funding shortfall, but we are confident that potential new investors will come forward who want to change the world and the life of paraplegic’s”. “My research started during 2003, but there is now a bright future for paraplegics as we are at the brink of new beginnings”. I’m sure that this breakthrough is set to happen soon”.
