Eduardo Garcia Aguilar (Manizales, Colombia, 1953) is a novelist, poet, and journalist. His published works in English translation include the novels The Triumphant Voyage and Boulevard of Heroes, the collection of short stories Luminous Cities, and the critical examination of globalism Mexico Madness: Manifesto for a Disenchanted Generation. A self-described professional foreigner, Garcia Aguilar currently lives in Paris, where he is a special correspondent and editor for Agence France-Presse.

Aliform Publishing anuncia le publicación de The Trails of Ifigenia, por el escritor colombiano Eduardo García Aguilar. Las rutas de Ifigenia fue publicada en 2019 en Bogotá por Uniediciones en la colección Ladrones del tiempo.

Ifigenia es una muchacha manizaleña imaginaria de aquellos tiempos de rock, salsa y revolución. Además de la heroína, el otro personaje principal es la ciudad de Manizales, con sus casas, templos y palacios de fantasía construidos antes y después de los incendios. En todas está la Catedral como una presencia omnisciente y omnipotente, el Parque y el Teatro Fundadores, la Plaza de Bolívar, el Parque Caldas, el Palacio de Bellas Artes y el Teatro Olympia, el Puente de Olivares, el Monte de Léon, y la carrera 23 con sus cafés y tiendas luminosas.

Eduardo García Aguilar es novelista, poeta, y periodista, con más que veinte libros públicados. Un "extranjero profesional", vive en París, donde es editor y corresponsal para Agence France-Presse.

Jay Miskowiec obtuvo en 2008 la Beca Nacional de Traducción Literaria del Ministerio de Cultura de Colombia por su traducción de El viaje triunfal por Eduardo García Aguilar. El jurado, compuesto por Juan Manuel Pombo y Timothy Keppel, dijo que había otorgado el premio a Miskowiec en virtud de que The Triumphant Voyage "es una traducción bien ejecutada y es interesante que se conozca ese periodo fuera del país. La experiencia del traductor es sólida, con una buena formación académica". Miskowiec también tradujo otros libros por García Aguilar, incluso Bulevar de los héroes, El viaje triunfal, Urbes luminosas, y Delirio de San Cristóbal: manifiesto para una generación desencantada.

El traductor fue discípulo de Gregory Rabassa (1922-2016), traductor al inglés de Cien años de Soledad, Rayuela de Julio Cortázar y otros clásicos latinoamericanos, portugueses y brasileños.
